Dear You,
People think memory loss is just forgetting things, like names or where you put your phone. But it feels like more than that. It’s like slowly losing pieces of a story, except the story is your life. Imagine trying to explain who you are, but the details keep slipping away before you can hold onto them.
If I could ask for one thing, it would be patience. Don’t rush people. Don’t laugh when they repeat themselves. Those moments might feel small to you, but they can feel really big to someone else.
Even if memories fade, feelings don’t always disappear the same way. Kindness, love, and comfort can still be felt. So be gentle. The way you treat someone might be the one thing they remember, even if they don’t remember your name.
Sincerely,
Anonymous
