If you look back 5 years ago and read this letter you wouldn’t believe it. However five years from now you will probably look at this moment and remember that feeling you felt exactly. Going into a new private high school you knew nobody except one basketball friend. When you got to school although you are very social person the first couple of weeks were really hard. You felt like you were being a burden to that one friend, you missed the feeling of knowing everybody at your old school, and you felt torn because you didn’t want to go back to your middle school friends but at the same time you felt you had no friends. Then on a random Tuesday you met one of your best friends. You had no classes together, played no sports together, it was just a nice coincidence to even meet. Very quickly you guys became so close. Then later on you kept meeting new friends from basketball, classes, and just randomly. You went from almost regretting going to Mater Dei to being so happy and excited that you were surrounded by people who you actually understood and loved. Whenever your in a hard time remember that feeling you felt at that time. Because it really is such a happy emotion to feel.

Sincerely,

Lucia Ocampo
